Border closures with Victoria came in to force last night, and metropolitan Melbourne has gone back into “lockdown”. It will be another couple of weeks before we know whether these new restrictions have effectively suppressed the outbreak. Hopefully they will have prevented an increase in case in NSW from locally acquired sources.
In the meantime, cases in NSW remain extremely low, with only 6 cases in the last 4 weeks from local transmission.
It is extremely important that we maintain our vigilance.
At work, this includes: staying home if we are sick, getting tested and complying with new entry screening requirements; washing/sanitising hands frequently ( 5 moments!); avoiding touching our face; applying and removing PPE appropriately and carefully. Outside of work, please continue to follow the public health orders around hygiene and social distancing both at home and out and about.
Local policies and guidelines remain in a state of flux, and it can be hard to stay up to date with all the changes. Most recently, we have relaxed visitor policies, and revised the CPR guideline.
